Job Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED and one year experience in preparing well-balanced meals in a residential or commercial setting for groups of at least 30 people and/or culinary education
- Must have a valid Food Handlers Certification
- Current certified training in CPR and First Aid
- Ability to plan and prepare well-balanced meals
- Ability to follow the menu in preparing the daily food listed
- Basic computer skills in Office 365, Teams, Zoom and other communication/meeting platforms
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and TB test

Job Duties
- Prepare and cook various items based on approved menus, special dietary needs, nutritional or cultural requirements, or numbers of portions for meals served to all Program Residents in accordance with facility contracts
- Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and eating areas including counters, shelves, cabinets, walls, floors, drains, vents/ducts, ceiling, appliances, etc. in accordance with all State and Local health department sanitation requirements
- Develop meal plans and menus that meet all nutritional standards in collaboration with the full-time cook
- Perform inventory of supplies and equipment based on a schedule, ensuring all food items, supplies, and equipment are properly stored and accounted for
- Replenish supplies and purchase food on a weekly basis or as needed according to the menu, the budget, and the inventory, always in collaboration with the full-time cook
- Responsible for receiving, labeling, and placement of food and commodities on shelves, in refrigerators, and freezers in accordance with all State, Local Health Department, and contract requirements
- Taste test all food prior to serving it to the residents and reserve a sampling of each meal for twenty-four hours to determine possible food contamination
- Work with and be a resource for residents assisting with food preparations and clean up duties
- Develop written procedure for dispensing and retrieving all utensils during and after the meals
- Think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies
- Drive on Agency business
- Maintain physical presence at the program
