Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year experience in a commercial kitchen
- Knowledge of Child Nutrition
- Understanding of food safety
- ServSafe Manager Level or ODH Manager Certification in Food Protection preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and perform assigned duties
- Ability to work Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
- Ability to work approximately 180 days per year
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Job Qualifications
- Combination of training and work experience that indicates possession of required skills, knowledge, and abilities
- Minimum of one year experience in a commercial kitchen
- Knowledge of Child Nutrition
- Understanding of food safety
- ServSafe Manager Level or ODH Manager Certification in Food Protection preferred
- High school diploma or GED
- Alternatives as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent
Job Duties
- Assist with food preparation such as washing fruits and vegetables, preparing soups, salads, and main dishes, mixing salad dressings, placing food in oven, setting temperature, and removing food from oven
- Assist with preparation of serving line including placing napkins, plates, silverware, and condiments, serving controlled portions
- Collect and dispose of garbage, clean serving line equipment, clean refrigerator, stoves, ovens, counters, wash dishes, pots, pans, clean utensils, inspect dishes and silverware for cleanliness
- Replenish snack bar items and shelves, receive and store merchandise
- Substitute for the head cook in their absence
