Job Requirements
- Basic kitchen knowledge or desire to learn basic culinary skills
- Familiarity with main and satellite kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food sanitation guidelines
- Understanding of kitchen policies including opening, closing, shopping and prep lists
- Ability to practice Mis En Place daily
- Completion of knife skills assessment by Executive Chef
- Training and coaching on therapeutic diets
- Ability to produce assigned egg dishes and sandwiches
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with team members
- Physical capability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Adherence to food safety and handling protocols
- Capability to work under moderate physical and emotional stress
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development
Job Qualifications
- 1-2 years experience in similar position desired
- Culinary training a plus
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently
- Ability to meet or exceed attendance and punctuality standards
- Ability to use miscellaneous software and office equipment
- Ability to understand and follow directions given
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Job Duties
- Work collaboratively with front and back of house team members ensuring compliance with quality, presentation and portion control standards
- Adhere to all proper handling, HACCP, labeling and storage protocols and ensure compliance with food service regulations
- Follow all safety protocols consistently and foster a culture of safety
- Maintain documentation of temperature charts and records
- Maintain open communication and professional relationships with all community departments and Home Office support
- Participate actively in planning and production meetings with the team
- Attend and participate in required in-service training and education programs
- Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Chef or Director of Dining Services
