Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of kitchen or hotel operations experience
  • ability to lift at least 70 pounds
  • ability to stand continuously for up to 8 hours
  • ability to resolve problems and make decisions under pressure
  • ability to work extended periods on feet during peak hours
  • clear vision for reading and data analysis
  • good hearing for effective communication
  • willingness to adhere to safety and sanitary standards
  • ability to work professionally with team members
  • availability to perform physical kitchen duties

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in kitchen or hotel operations
  • ability to work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
  • proficient in basic cooking techniques and kitchen safety
  • ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely
  • good communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Understand basic knife skills and maintenance
  • learn the purpose of basic knife cuts
  • know basic cooking techniques including soups, sauté, grilling, frying, roasting, braising, poaching, and vegetable treatment
  • prepare consistent quality food and pastry items according to guest orders following recipe cards and production standards
  • complete station set-up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service
  • effectively operate, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment such as deep fryers, broilers, stoves, steamers, food processors, mixers, slicers, ovens, steam tables, tilt kettles, waffle irons, and flat top grills
  • date and rotate food containers following policies and maintain proper temperature control of perishables
  • check inventory levels and prepare for shifts including freezer pulls and line set up
  • return unused food to storage areas properly covering and dating perishables
  • assist in prep work for the next shift
