Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • one year of previous culinary experience in a high volume food service operation preferred
  • must be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English
  • must have the ability to get along with co-workers and work as a team
  • must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • must be able to lift and carry objects up to 40 pounds
  • must be able to push and pull up to 100 pounds
  • must be flexible with schedule
  • must be able to work in extreme and changing temperatures
  • must be able to bend, reach, and stoop
  • must tolerate chemicals for cleaning and sanitizing kitchen areas

Job Duties

  • Conducts preparation of assigned menu items according to standardized recipes and specifications
  • chops, dices, and cuts meats, cheeses, vegetables, and fruits for salad and sandwich preparation
  • combines ingredients and plates entrees, salads, sandwiches, desserts, beverages, and appetizers for service
  • prepares all items for a station in accordance with outlet expectations
  • operates grill, fryer, and French-top as required
  • maintains required par of food items and ingredient supplies
  • moves items for restocking to assigned stations
  • ensures high service level with co-workers and wait staff
  • observes all safety rules and regulations
  • keeps assigned areas clean and free of debris
  • coordinates with shift leader for proper par levels
  • takes actions to ensure quality and reduce waste
  • maintains food rotation procedures
  • adheres to company and regulatory policies
  • maintains a positive attitude and greets with department signature greeting
  • handles customer concerns and questions
  • processes cash, credit, and comp transactions where applicable
  • maintains professional appearance
  • works as a team player
  • labels and rotates stock items properly
  • other duties as assigned
  • operates cash register and settles checks where cashiering is required
  • maintains cash register balance and records tips
  • meets or exceeds customer service expectations
  • maintains cleanliness of work area and dining floor.
