Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in cooking or baking in a large institutional kitchen or military cooking experience
- Certificate in food handling or sanitation methods, or ServSafe certification preferred
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Good customer service skills
- Solid work ethics
- Ability to operate basic kitchen equipment

Job Duties
- Prepare meals using established recipe cards, production procedures, and systems while ensuring that all tasks are done in accordance with SOP
- Use standardized measuring cups, spoons, knives, forks, large kitchen utensils, pots and pans
- Prepare food to coordinate with meal serving hours so that quality, temperature, and superb appearance of food are preserved
- Utilize progressive cooking techniques in preparing all meals
- Operate basic kitchen equipment including stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator
- Judge the appearance of food being served and recommend appropriate changes if necessary
- Determine amount and type of food and supplies required using production systems
- Set steam tables and serve or ensure proper serving of food
- Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards
- Observe proper food preparation and handling techniques
- Store food properly and safely and date-mark items
