Job Duties
- Prepare special meals or replace products
- regulate the temperature of ovens, grills, and broilers
- remove food from the freezer to thaw in the refrigerator
- ensure proper portion sizes, distribution, and food garnishing
- keep food records
- monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food
- communicate needed assistance during busy periods
- inform the chef of excess food products for daily specials
- notify food and beverage service staff about rejected products and available special dishes
- ensure the quality of food products
- prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists
- prepare cold dishes
- assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, advising, disciplining, motivating, and training employees
- comply with all safety and company policies and procedures
- report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management
- conduct safety training and obtain safety certifications
- maintain clean and professional uniform and personal appearance
- maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets
- anticipate and respond to guest service needs
- communicate clearly and professionally with others
- cultivate and maintain positive working relationships
- support the team to achieve common goals
- listen and respond appropriately to employee concerns
- ensure compliance with quality expectations and standards
- stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods
