Job Duties

  • Prepare special meals or replace products
  • regulate the temperature of ovens, grills, and broilers
  • remove food from the freezer to thaw in the refrigerator
  • ensure proper portion sizes, distribution, and food garnishing
  • keep food records
  • monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food
  • communicate needed assistance during busy periods
  • inform the chef of excess food products for daily specials
  • notify food and beverage service staff about rejected products and available special dishes
  • ensure the quality of food products
  • prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists
  • prepare cold dishes
  • assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, advising, disciplining, motivating, and training employees
  • comply with all safety and company policies and procedures
  • report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management
  • conduct safety training and obtain safety certifications
  • maintain clean and professional uniform and personal appearance
  • maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets
  • anticipate and respond to guest service needs
  • communicate clearly and professionally with others
  • cultivate and maintain positive working relationships
  • support the team to achieve common goals
  • listen and respond appropriately to employee concerns
  • ensure compliance with quality expectations and standards
  • stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods
  • stretch above head and below knees including bending, twisting, turning, and stooping
