Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 0 - 2 years’ experience as a cook preferably in a club or hotel environment
  • valid driver’s license or ability to successfully complete club’s internal motor vehicle training program
  • ability to prepare food using various cooking methods
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • acceptable hearing and vision to perform job duties
  • physical ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, and work with hands and arms for extended periods
  • availability to work varying shifts including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of food preparation and food service techniques
  • 0 - 2 years’ experience as a cook preferably in a club or hotel environment
  • high school diploma or equivalent required
  • culinary certification and/or relevant technical culinary training preferred
  • possess a valid driver’s license and/or successfully complete club’s internal motor vehicle training program

Job Duties

  • prepares and serves all menu items in accordance with club recipes and established portions and presentation standards
  • identifies, selects, and prepares cuts of meat, poultry, shellfish, fish, game, cereals, grains, beans, fruits, and vegetables for cooking
  • prepares thickening agents including stocks and roux’s, soups, sauces, salad dressings, cold sauces, dips, and garnishes
  • cooks food by frying, sautéing, broiling, roasting, braising, poaching, steaming, baking, stir-frying, simmering, and boiling under direction
  • gathers all supplies needed to prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and member party menu items
  • sets up, maintains, and breaks down prep cook stations including cleaning and deep clean kitchen areas
  • inspects assigned work areas and equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitation, adheres to state and federal sanitation guidelines
  • covers, dates, and properly stores leftover products according to approved storage methods
  • works within a team and maintains courteous behavior towards team members
  • notifies chefs of equipment malfunctions or shortages
  • assists chefs in maintaining security and safety of the kitchen
  • provides professional and courteous service to club members and guests
  • performs all other duties deemed necessary by management
