Job Requirements
- High school degree or GED preferred
- At least 2 years of recent cooking experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be at least 18 years old
- No felony, theft, or stealing convictions
- Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
- Must pass background investigation
- Must obtain and maintain a gaming license
- Ability to obtain Food Handlers card
- Ability to obtain TIPS certification
- Ability to communicate clearly in basic English
- Ability to work under busy, fast paced environment
- Ability to demonstrate professional appearance and manner
- Ability to organize and coordinate tasks with co-workers
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies
Job Qualifications

- Minimum of 2 years recent cooking experience or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment, utensils, tools and machinery
- Knowledge of safe kitchen working practices
- Basic butchery and sauce and stock preparation knowledge
- Ability to obtain a Food Handlers card
- Ability to obtain TIPS certification
- Ability to communicate, read, and write basic English
- Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Professional appearance and manner
- Organizational and coordination skills
- Ability to use cleaning equipment and supplies safely
- Knowledge of basic foods and their uses
- Familiarity with food safety regulations
- Ability to learn culinary methods and principles
- Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of management
Job Duties
- Cooks and prepares a variety of foods according to the menu and business demand
- Uses and learns proper knife skills and cooking techniques
- Reads and follows standardized recipes for all food venues
- Maintains and communicates stock levels with Assistant Sous Chef
- Keeps work areas and kitchens clean, organized, and sanitized
- Ensures food storage areas are properly maintained with labeling and dating
- Prepares kitchen and food venues to be ready for opening
- Demonstrates Desert Diamond Casino 'On Brand' attitude towards guests and team members
- Supports and reinforces Desert Diamond Casino's Spirit of Service standards
- Works according to established casino procedures
- Communicates effectively with team members and maintains a positive professional environment
- Contributes to team efforts and accomplishes all tasks
- Performs other duties as required
