Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in a cooking or food preparation role preferred
  • knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation
  • ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes
  • capability to stand for extended periods and perform physical kitchen tasks
  • availability to work part-time or temporary hours
  • commitment to maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of cooking techniques charbroiling poaching deep-frying sautéing braising roasting and par-cooking
  • ability to recognize quality standards in fresh vegetables fish dairy and meat products
  • understanding of herbs and spices and their proper use
  • proficiency in food safety and sanitation practices
  • experience in portion control and food presentation
  • ability to work as part of a team under supervision
  • good communication skills

Job Duties

  • prepare cook and serve food as directed by the chef in charge
  • comply with food safety act portion control and presentation standards
  • utilize cooking techniques such as charbroiling poaching deep-frying sautéing braising roasting and par-cooking
  • recognize quality standards in fresh vegetables fish dairy and meat products
  • maintain a clean and sanitary environment with proper handling storage and sanitation
  • prepare food for conferences following banquet event orders
  • breakdown buffets and kitchen lines storing food and equipment properly at the end of each meal period
  • work banquet food stations as scheduled by chef or kitchen supervisor
  • follow all health department and company regulations regarding food storage safety and sanitation
  • maintain professional appearance and dress appropriately
