Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one-year experience in commercial or industrial kitchen cooking
  • Possess State of Texas Food Handlers Permit
  • Ability to become First Aid, CPR and AED certified
  • US citizen or lawful permanent resident with at least five years US residency
  • Pass criminal background and credit check
  • Obtain and maintain DHS/ICE clearance
  • Pass all drug tests
  • Pass medical exam
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Knowledge of industrial kitchen operations
  • Capability to follow orders and understand instructions
  • Literate to interpret rules and recipes
  • Good judgment and temperament
  • Ability to perform under mental stress
  • Maintain professional appearance
  • High integrity and accountability
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • Maintain continental US residence

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one-year experience in large scale cooking in commercial or industrial kitchen
  • Possess a State of Texas Food Handlers Permit
  • Ability to become First Aid, CPR and AED certified and maintain certification
  • US citizen or lawful permanent resident with five years residency in the US
  • Pass criminal background and consumer credit check
  • Obtain and maintain DHS/ICE clearance
  • Pass pre-employment and random drug tests
  • Pass medical examination meeting health requirements
  • At least 18 years old
  • Knowledge of industrial kitchen operation
  • Capable of following written and verbal orders
  • Literate to interpret printed instructions and recipes
  • Ability to maintain poise and professionalism under stress
  • Demonstrate cross-cultural work ability
  • Maintain physical residence in continental US

Job Duties

  • Prepare quantities of quickly prepared foods such as steaks, chops, eggs, salads, and similar items
  • Work under supervision of Cook II and assist in all duties to keep food services operational
  • Prepare foods by various cooking methods including soups, sauces, meats, fish, vegetables, baked goods
  • Prepare special foods for non-citizens requiring special diets
  • Plan cooking schedule to ensure food readiness at prescribed times
  • Deliver food to pods and housing units on schedule
  • Monitor daily operations for quality, quantity, safety, and sanitation standards
