Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in food preparation work
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Must pass fingerprint criminal background check
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Must pass registry checks including Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid driver's license required for driving duties
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
  • Willingness to work extended hours and overtime as needed
  • Ability to comply with agency policies and procedures
  • Male applicants between 18-25 must be registered with Selective Service

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in food preparation work
  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to complete basic math used in cooking and preparation
  • Ability to work in hot and cold conditions
  • Ability to lift minimum of 25 pounds
  • Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and residents
  • Skill in operation and sanitization of food service equipment

Job Duties

  • Attend work regularly and follow assigned shift schedules including rotating and extended shifts
  • Prepare food using proper equipment and ensure sanitary conditions
  • Prepare and portion food for special and therapeutic diets
  • Supervise assigned employees in food preparation, delivery, sanitation, safety, and hygiene
  • Distribute food safely and according to policy
  • Follow food handling procedures according to state, federal and HACCP guidelines
  • Maintain sanitation and organization of kitchen, stock rooms, and food preparation areas
  • Handle cash in facility canteen when required
  • Receive delivery of food and supplies from vendors
  • Participate in disaster response and continuity of operations activities as needed
