Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 6 months directly related experience
  • Ability to follow hospital and departmental policies
  • Capability to lift 20 to 50 pounds occasionally and 10 to 25 pounds frequently
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts
  • Compliance with sanitation and safety standards
  • Ability to work in moderate exposure conditions to chemicals and equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a hospital food service environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to follow recipes and production schedules
  • Good physical stamina for medium work
  • Ability to work rotating shifts

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve food items in accordance with recipes including cooking and baking a variety of foods
  • Review production sheets to determine requirements and quantity for daily food preparation
  • Coordinate cooking schedule to ensure timely completion of production
  • Work collaboratively with nutrition staff in the preparation of special diets
  • Maintain and replenish food lines and breakfast carts
  • Restock condiments and serviceware
  • Transport food orders and supplies to designated locations
  • Maintain and record food temperature to ensure quality and compliance
  • Label and store food items and utilize leftovers according to guidelines
  • Clean and maintain sanitary work area
  • Ensure compliance with hospital and state regulatory requirements
  • Work in cold food production as scheduled
