Job Requirements

  • One to three years experience in high volume food preparation and cooking in a hotel, restaurant, cafeteria, catering firm, government or private institution
  • Less than high school education

  • Competency in knife skills
  • Knowledge of food service safety practices and temperature control
  • Ability to read and understand production tickets
  • Less than high school education

Job Duties

  • Prepares hot food items for all areas as indicated by menu cycles
  • Responsible for preliminary preparation of food items for next day as indicated by menu cycle
  • Reads production tickets
  • Assists with routine cleaning and sanitation of areas
  • Assists with serving food items as indicated by established workflow
  • Demonstrates competency in knife skills
  • Demonstrates competency in food service safety practices, procedures, and temperature control
  • Assists with other duties as needed
