Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary experience
- Current food handlers certification
- Ability to perform medium work including lifting up to 75 pounds
- Ability to stand for entire shift
- Ability to withstand hot and cold temperature variations
- Availability to work flexible hours including days, nights, and weekends
- Ability to bend, reach and stand for at least 8 hours daily
- Ability to work outdoors and in high ambient temperatures
- Willingness to abide by all resort policies and safety rules
Job Qualifications
- Culinary experience
- Current food handlers certification as required by California laws
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to lead and train kitchen staff
- Strong understanding of menu preparation and standardized recipes
- Ability to work flexible hours including days, nights, and weekends
- Good communication skills
- Physical ability to perform medium work including standing for long hours
- Familiarity with banquet and buffet food preparation
Job Duties
- Adhere to the companys service culture and 4 keys to creating guests for life
- Participate in team member referral program and act as a talent ambassador
- Attend all resort required meetings and trainings
- Maintain high personal appearance standards including uniform and nametag
- Lead line cooks and assign tasks and responsibilities
- Have thorough knowledge of menus and preparation as per resort standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas and coolers
- Monitor equipment functionality and report issues
- Prepare and display buffet food items according to standards
- Demonstrate proficiency in cooking techniques and train others
- Ensure kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and proper food tempering
- Ensure fresh and sufficient ingredient preparation
- Serve as contact point to Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine
- Prepare banquet foods as specified in event orders
- Prepare food for employee cafeteria as directed
- Follow resort standard recipes for all food preparation
- Breakdown buffets and kitchen line and store food and equipment
- Work banquet food stations as scheduled
- Support any kitchen position in need of assistance
- Follow all health department and company food safety regulations
- Operate and clean kitchen equipment
- Assist in food storage and rotation
- Abide by all resort policies and safety rules
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
