Job Requirements
- High school education or GED
- 1 year relevant work experience in a commercial kitchen environment
- Must have commercial cooking experience
- Must have ServSafe Food Handler Certification
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing clearly
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office package
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems under pressure
- Pass and maintain any required security clearance
- Comply with drug-free workplace policy
Job Qualifications

- Culinary degree preferred
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience in a commercial kitchen environment
- Commercial cooking experience

Job Duties
- Comply with all authorized regulations and operating procedures
- Cook to order a variety of short order foods including hamburgers, cheeseburgers, salads, grilled sandwiches, eggs, omelets, steaks, chops, and cutlets
- Assist Cook II in food preparation and production
- Wash, peel, chop, dice, and slice fruits, meats, and vegetables following standard recipes
- Set up specialty bars such as potato, pasta, fruit, omelet, and hamburger bars
- Work grill during meal periods and garnish food items and serving lines
- Check and log refrigerator temperatures and ensure proper food storage by covering, timing, and dating food items before refrigeration
- Use progressive cooking techniques and ensure food portions are served appropriately
- Monitor food temperatures to maintain safety standards above 140 degrees
- Maintain cleanliness of food line and kitchen areas, sanitizing with approved agents
- Ensure good customer service techniques are consistently applied during meal service
- Assist with inventory management by requesting subsistence and reporting shortages
- Complete waste logs and dispose of leftovers properly at meal close
- Participate in all required safety training, comply with HACCP policies, and report accidents promptly
- Adhere to drug-free workplace and security clearance policies
- Follow energy conservation, recycling, and property control procedures
- Attend training programs and safety meetings as designated
