Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year related experience
  • Flexibility to work night shifts and rotating weekends and holidays
  • Ability to follow strict health and safety standards
  • Experience in hospital, healthcare or institutional cooking preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary training preferred
  • One year related experience required
  • Experience cooking in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred
  • Experience cooking in an institutional setting acceptable

Job Duties

  • Prepare food which is nutritious and appetizing in accordance with requirements of the Food Production Manager
  • Prepare meals for patients on both regular and modified diets
  • Prepare food items for the cafeteria
  • Maintain accurate records of all foods prepared and returned
  • Ensure compliance with Maryland Department of Health standards and Johns Hopkins safety standards
  • Work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Collaborate with team members to uphold food quality and safety
