Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary training preferred
  • At least one year of related experience
  • Experience in hospital or institutional cooking preferred
  • Ability to work full-time rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must adhere to health and safety standards
  • Ability to maintain records accurately

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary training preferred
  • Minimum one year related experience
  • Experience cooking in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred
  • Experience cooking in an institutional setting acceptable
  • Ability to maintain accurate food records
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare food which is nutritious and appetizing in accordance with requirements of the Food Production Manager
  • Prepare meals for patients on both regular and modified diets
  • Prepare food items for the cafeteria
  • Maintain accurate records of all foods prepared and returned
  • Ensure Maryland Department of Health standards are followed
  • Adhere to strict safety standards under Johns Hopkins expectations
  • Work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
