Job Description

The Springfield City School District, proudly home to The John Legend Theatre, is inviting applications for the position of Cook Helper/Cashier at Roosevelt Middle School for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. Job Duties

  • Take direction from the Head Cook in the assigned kitchen
  • Prepare food for the school utilizing standard operating procedures developed by the Food and Nutrition Department to safely and nutritiously feed students and staff
  • Adhere to cashier standards of operations, reporting and maintenance
  • Follow systems utilized to maintain compliance with all regulatory agency requirements
  • Operate all equipment according to standard operating procedures for safety and efficiency
  • Serve as a contact at the assigned school for issues that may arise and report all issues to the Head Cook in a timely manner
  • Help prepare a monthly inventory under the supervision of the Head Cook when needed
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork as required
  • Ensure safe and accurate receiving, storage, rotation, and disposition of all food and supplies
  • Work as cashier on a regular basis or when needed
