Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to stand 85-100% of the shift
- able to lift up to 30 lbs from floor to waist height
- able to lift 20 lbs overhead
- able to carry up to 25 lbs for short distances
- able to perform repetitive wrist movements such as chopping and slicing
- able to work in conditions of extreme heat
- ability to listen and communicate effectively
- able to bend, stoop, crouch, and twist throughout shift
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and perform simple math
- experience using calculator and food thermometer
- able to follow directions
- good physical stamina
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- ability to operate kitchen equipment such as slicer, grill, steamer, fryer
- strong communication skills
- prior experience in food service helpful but not required
Job Duties
- Pan variety of simple meats
- prepare simple casseroles
- prepare convenience foods, open cans, frozen foods
- assist on serving lines as needed
- slice deli meats
- take food to serving lines and replenish as needed
- store and date food items
- fill out paperwork for computerized Food Service production system including service records and food production sheets
- ensure proper storage of food items such as cold vs hot, raw vs cooked
- grill hamburgers, cheese sandwiches, etc.
- observe safety and health regulations and maintain sanitation standards
