Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • ability to stand 85-100% of the shift
  • able to lift up to 30 lbs from floor to waist height
  • able to lift 20 lbs overhead
  • able to carry up to 25 lbs for short distances
  • able to perform repetitive wrist movements such as chopping and slicing
  • able to work in conditions of extreme heat
  • ability to listen and communicate effectively
  • able to bend, stoop, crouch, and twist throughout shift

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, and perform simple math
  • experience using calculator and food thermometer
  • able to follow directions
  • good physical stamina
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment such as slicer, grill, steamer, fryer
  • strong communication skills
  • prior experience in food service helpful but not required

Job Duties

  • Pan variety of simple meats
  • prepare simple casseroles
  • prepare convenience foods, open cans, frozen foods
  • assist on serving lines as needed
  • slice deli meats
  • take food to serving lines and replenish as needed
  • store and date food items
  • fill out paperwork for computerized Food Service production system including service records and food production sheets
  • ensure proper storage of food items such as cold vs hot, raw vs cooked
  • grill hamburgers, cheese sandwiches, etc.
  • observe safety and health regulations and maintain sanitation standards
