Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • culinary training preferred
  • minimum one year related experience
  • experience in hospital or healthcare setting preferred
  • ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
  • reliable and punctual
  • physical ability to perform kitchen duties

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • culinary training or graduation from a culinary or technical school preferred
  • one year of related cooking experience
  • experience in hospital or healthcare cooking preferred
  • experience in institutional cooking acceptable
  • knowledge of food safety standards
  • ability to follow detailed food preparation instructions

Job Duties

  • Prepare nutritious and appetizing meals according to Food Production Manager requirements
  • prepare meals for patients on both regular and modified diets
  • prepare food items for the cafeteria
  • maintain accurate records of all foods prepared and returned
  • ensure compliance with Maryland Department of Health standards
  • uphold strict safety standards under Johns Hopkins expectations
  • assist in inventory management and kitchen cleanliness
