Job Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
  • two years of experience in meal preparation for large groups preferred
  • food handler's card required
  • CPR and First Aid certification required within six months of hire
  • valid Arizona Driver's License
  • ability to work outside normal business hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • pass background and fingerprint check
  • compliance with Community Code of Ordinances regarding working with minors
  • ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • flexibility to manage work schedule for special events

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • food handler's card
  • CPR and First Aid certification within six months of hire
  • experience in meal preparation for large groups
  • knowledge of dietary needs for special medical conditions including diabetes
  • ability to operate a Tribal Government vehicle
  • proficiency in inventory management and supply ordering
  • understanding of nutritional guidelines and meal planning especially for low sugar and diabetic diets
  • effective organizational and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Plan and prepare breakfasts, lunches, and dinners following nutritionally approved menus
  • ensure timely and quality preparation and presentation of meals for children including special diets
  • assist with inventory control and place food and supplies orders
  • prepare meals for special events such as staff meetings and community holidays
  • maintain safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas in compliance with OSHA standards
  • pack and prepare meals for delivery across group home locations
  • participate in administrative tasks including monthly meal planning notifications and staff meetings
