Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- at least 1 year of advanced quality kitchen experience in a cooking position or 6 months as Carlyle Place Utility
- ability to operate kitchen machinery including oven, steamer, fryer, tilt skillet, steam jacketed kettle
- ability to meet annual training and competency requirements
- ability to work in hospital and clinical environments following infection control precautions
- physical ability to lift 25 to 60 pounds and perform tasks requiring bending, squatting, kneeling, overhead and forward reaching
- ability to communicate verbally in person and over phone or radio
- ability to work in noisy, busy environments
- ability to remain calm under stress and multitask effectively
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- at least 1 year of advanced quality kitchen experience in a cooking position or at least 6 months working as a Carlyle Place Utility
- proficient knowledge of HACCP and sanitation guidelines
- ability to operate kitchen equipment including oven, steamer, fryer, tilt skillet, and steam jacketed kettle
- must meet all training requirements annually and maintain certifications
- strong verbal communication skills
- ability to work in hospital and clinical environments with precautions against infectious diseases
Job Duties
- Prepares food under supervision for designated areas
- runs and maintains all kitchen machinery in accordance to guidelines
- rotates and labels all food items in designated area
- adheres to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and department of health sanitation guidelines
- may perform salad prep, prep cook, breakfast cook, grille cook, banquet cook, receiving clerk, line cook, healthcare cook duties
