Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum 1 year advanced quality kitchen experience
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment including oven, steamer, fryer, tilt skillet, steam jacketed kettle
  • Ability to work in hospital and clinical environments with universal precautions
  • Must meet all required annual training and maintain competencies
  • Must be able to lift and carry 25-60 pounds
  • Must have functional range of motion and physical strength as defined by job class
  • Able to work evenings and weekends
  • Ability to communicate verbally in person and over phone or radio

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • At least 1 year of advanced quality kitchen experience in a cooking position or 6 months experience as Carlyle Place Utility
  • Proficient knowledge of HACCP and sanitation guidelines
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment including oven, steamer, fryer, tilt skillet, steam jacketed kettle
  • Ability to work in hospital and clinical environments with appropriate safety precautions

Job Duties

  • Prepares food under supervision for designated areas
  • Runs and maintains all kitchen machinery in accordance to guidelines
  • Rotates and labels all food items in designated area
  • Follows Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and sanitation guidelines set by the Department of Health
  • Performs varied cooking duties including salad prep, prep cook, breakfast cook, grille cook, banquet cook, receiving clerk, line cook, healthcare cook
