Job Requirements
- Must be current on all vaccinations including COVID-19
- Must receive CDC recommended booster doses
- Ability to comply with all local, state and federal food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours including overtime as required
- Physical ability to perform kitchen cleaning and maintenance tasks

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking roles
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Physical capability to perform kitchen duties including lifting and standing for long periods
- Valid food service certification such as ServSafe
- Understanding of special dietary needs and presentation techniques
Job Duties
- Ensure that the attainment of Victory Housing mission takes precedence over all decisions and actions
- Implement all VHI policies and procedures
- Abide by all local, state and federal regulations and guidelines to meet or exceed all food safety and industry standards
- Prepare meals according to planned and dietician-certified menus including special dietary requirements
- Adhere to resident special diet orders and serve food according to portion control guidelines at the correct temperature
- Plate all resident meals unique to dietary needs and preferences with appealing presentation
- Prep for next day meals per production sheets and instructions
- Participate in special events cooking and serving as instructed
- Support the psycho-social needs of residents through food services and activities program
- Identify inventory needs and complete inventory counts
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries
- Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen with clean as you go approach
- Maintain all equipment including dishes, cookware, utensils and supplies
- Clean grease trap and ice-machine weekly and maintain records
- Wash dishes and cookware using commercial dishwasher and 3-compartment sink
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Ensure highest level of satisfaction from residents and families
- Demonstrate knowledge of fire safety procedures and assist with evacuations
- Maintain food and sanitation certification including ServSafe
- Attend required meetings and training sessions
