Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous culinary or supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to cooking
  • Ability to work full-time or part-time schedules as required
  • Willingness to attend in-service and safety meetings
  • Must comply with company policies on safety and equipment use

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
  • Uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains accurate records
  • Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat, ensuring proper storage of food and supplies
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
  • Assists in ordering and receiving of food and supplies
  • Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to supervisor immediately
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures
  • follows HACCP standards
  • Commits personally to safety and abides by company policies including proper glove use, slip-resistant shoes, and lifting techniques
  • Performs other duties as assigned
