Job Requirements

  • One year of previous cook experience with basic knife skills
  • Ability to work full or part-time schedules
  • Willingness to attend in-service and safety meetings
  • Capability to operate kitchen equipment

  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen areas
  • Ability to communicate effectively within a team environment
  • Compliance with company policies including safety and protective equipment use

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum one year of cooking experience
  • Basic knife skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards such as HACCP
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion control requirements
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts
  • Commitment to safety protocols and company policies

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning, ensuring food is at correct temperature and attractive
  • Tastes all prepared food items
  • Uses established ticket collection procedures during service
  • Cleans kitchen after preparing and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Stores or discards excess food following safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
  • Assists in ordering and receiving food and supplies
  • Reports maintenance needs, faulty equipment or accidents immediately
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintains good relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Ensures proper presentation, portion control and serving temperature
  • Follows HACCP standards
  • Commits to personal and team safety
  • Abides by company policies on use of protective gloves, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes and lifting techniques
  • Performs other assigned duties
