Job Requirements
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Minimum one year food service experience in healthcare dietary setting
- Preferably two years experience in food and beverage operation
- Ability to follow recipe directions and diet orders
- Willingness to work flexible hours
- Ability to lift and carry 50 to 75 pounds
- Patient and tolerant toward staff, patients, and family members
Job Qualifications
- Minimum one year food service experience in healthcare dietary setting
- Preferably two years experience in food and beverage operation
- Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions and diet orders
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Education in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets is a plus
- Customer service oriented
- Knowledge of basic food preparation
- Familiarity with sanitation and safety practices
- Time management skills
- Patience and tolerance toward staff, patients, and families
Job Duties
- Prepare food according to standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
- Use daily production worksheets and waste logs
- Taste completed meals to ensure quality
- Monitor temperature of hot and cold foods during preparation and service
- Check and inspect food products and supplies in absence of Executive Chef
- Supervise and assist in storage of supplies and food products
- Report equipment breakdowns and unsafe conditions to General Manager
