Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 to 3 years of institutional cooking experience
- Valid food handler's permit or ability to obtain upon hire
- Ability to understand and follow sanitation and safety guidelines
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Basic computer literacy preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED preferred
- Institutional cooking experience required (1 - 3 years)
- Food handler's permit required upon hire
- ServSafe Certification preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Typing and basic computer skills preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food items for patients, cafeteria, and catering
- Follow strict sanitation guidelines set by the Texas State Health Department
- Ensure food quality and safety at all times
- Manage inventory and storage of food supplies
- Assist with menu planning and dietary needs
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and food preparation areas
- Comply with health and safety regulations
