Job Requirements
- ability to read, write, and speak English
- high school graduate or equivalent education preferred
- willing and able to work flexible hours, including during emergency situations
- able to stand and walk intermittently throughout the day
- ability to lift and carry 50 to 75 pounds
- able to work with cleaning chemicals
- passed background checks and drug screening
- reliable commute or relocation to Fort Smith, AR
- previous restaurant experience of at least 1 year preferred
Job Qualifications
- minimum two years food service experience in a healthcare dietary setting preferred
- minimum two years culinary or cooking background
- experience working in food and beverage operation preferred
- general knowledge of quantity food preparation and portioned serving
- ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders and work assignments
- must be patient and tolerant toward staff, patients, and family members
Job Duties
- prepare food in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards
- assist in preparation of patient, family, and employee meals
- help deliver and take orders as needed
- follow standardized recipes, portioning, menu extensions, and presentation standards
- complete daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
- taste completed meals to ensure quality
- monitor temperature of hot and cold foods to meet established standards
- check and inspect food products and supplies as delivered in the absence of the Director of Culinary
- supervise and assist in storage of supplies and food products
- notify Director of Culinary of food, supplies, or equipment needs
- report equipment breakdowns and unsafe conditions
- comply with health and sanitation regulations and departmental procedures
- perform other department duties as assigned by Director of Culinary
