Job Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- 2 - 3 years of cooking/baking experience in a hotel/restaurant/institutional setting
- A Food Handler's Permit is required in the state of employment within 30 days of hire
- Ability to work full time
- Willingness to adhere to CHRISTUS Health policies and procedures
- Ability to attend and participate in interdisciplinary team and departmental meetings
- Commitment to follow sanitation and food safety standards

Job Duties
- Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders
- Ensure equipment is clean, well-maintained, and repaired
- Ensure sanitation of the main kitchen and all cooking equipment, refrigerators, storerooms, and freezers
- Set up, garnish, and break down steam tables and buffet lines, including special functions
- Prepare decorated party items, such as gourmet cooking and banquets
- Responsible for washing pots and pans used in the cooking process
- Handle and prepare food in accordance with acceptable sanitary standards
