Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous cooking experience in a senior living or similar environment preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in senior living preferred
  • Experience with production methods, portion control and food handling safety required
  • Great organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail and presentation of food product
  • Ability to work weekends
  • Culinary training or relevant certification is a plus

Job Duties

  • Prepare hot and cold menu items including grill, sauté station, salad bar and service line
  • Ensure proper preparation, portioning and serving of foods following menu cycle and standardized recipes
  • Taste and prepare food to determine quality and palatability
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Collaborate with kitchen team to meet resident dietary needs and preferences
  • Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
