Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • ServSafe certification required
  • One year of job-related experience including food preparation and menu items
  • Ability to stand, walk, use motor skills, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear and smell
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs using proper body mechanics
  • Effective communication skills
  • Patience and compassion

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified culinary degree preferred
  • Maintains current ServSafe certification or ability to obtain
  • One year of related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and special diets
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills
  • Good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Compassionate and patient with effective communication abilities

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items in accordance with menu requirements and dietary specifications
  • Ensure compliance with ServSafe certification standards and maintain safe food handling practices
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver timely and efficient meal service
  • Monitor kitchen equipment and supplies for proper maintenance and inventory
  • Assist in creating a welcoming dining experience that reflects compassion and respect for residents
  • Support adherence to organizational policies regarding hygiene and sanitation
  • Adapt meal preparation to accommodate special diets and resident needs
