Job Requirements
- Prior experience in short-order cooking
- Experience in customer service
- Ability to prepare food according to recipes and standards
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Capacity to work full-time Monday through Friday with rotating weekends
- Willingness to adhere to company safety policies including use of protective gloves, oven mitts, and slip-resistant shoes
- Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Must be able to maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and storage areas
- Comfortable with maintaining records and following ticket collection procedures
- Able to report maintenance or safety issues promptly
- Must maintain good working relationships with team members and supervisors
Job Qualifications
- Prior experience in short-order cooking
- Experience in customer service
- Skill in plate presentation
- Ability to follow federal, state and corporate food preparation standards
- Knowledge of safe food handling and storage procedures
- Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Willingness to participate in safety and in-service training
- Basic food tasting skills to ensure product quality
Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains records from the area worked
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
- Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat and ensures food and supply items are stored per standards
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assists in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required
- Assists in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required
- Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately
- Attends in-service and safety meetings
- Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers
- Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Ensures proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures while following HACCP standards
- Demonstrates personal commitment to safety and compliance with company policies regarding use of protective equipment and safe work practices
