Job Requirements

  • high school education or equivalent
  • one year experience in nursing home or hospital setting as cook preferred
  • Servsafe certification required or obtained when hired
  • reliable transportation
  • able to comprehend written and verbal instructions
  • able to perform basic math calculations such as weights, temperatures, fractions, measurements
  • able to measure solids and liquids according to recipe specifications

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • prepare meals from scratch including prep, cooking, baking, slicing, and roasting
  • ensure all food preparation complies with state regulations
  • maintain accurate inventory control of food supplies
  • support weekend and holiday rotation schedules
  • follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures
  • assist in kitchen cleanliness and organization
  • collaborate with dining services team to deliver exceptional meal service
