Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • at least 2 years experience cooking
  • food management certificate required within 6 months of employment
  • able to read and write in English
  • possess basic understanding of modified diets
  • experience in commercial or institutional food preparation
  • safety sensitive-designated position

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • experience cooking for 2 years required in lieu of education
  • able to read and write in English
  • basic understanding of modified diets
  • three years in commercial or institutional food preparation or two years experience as assistant cook or associate degree in Culinary Arts
  • food management certificate required within 6 months of employment

Job Duties

  • prepare and serve food using proper food handling and safety techniques
  • maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • coordinate and assist in food service department functions
  • work with registered dietitian to ensure adequate nutrition services
  • coordinate daily dietary operations with the director
  • prepare, season and cook food for patients, employees, visitors and special functions
