  • Ability to adapt recipes to accommodate dietary needs
  • Experience in food presentation
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to maintain accurate records

Job Duties

  • Prepares food daily as outlined on the menus
  • alters or adapts recipes to accommodate special dietary needs or improve recipes
  • ensures attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving
  • coordinates and participates in serving food including monitoring portion control to meet residents' requests and minimize waste
  • maintains accurate records of chargeable meals and submits to office monthly
  • assists with menu planning including reviewing and adjusting menus with the Dietary Manager
  • assists in identifying food and supplies needed for upcoming menus and reports to Dietary Manager
  • prepares meats for storage and portion control upon delivery ensuring proper handling, storage and labeling
  • maintains clean, orderly, safe and sanitary kitchen environment
  • ensures compliance with all regulations
  • assists in training other kitchen staff in food preparation
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • complies with all policies and procedures and any updates
