Job Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • High school graduate or equivalent education preferred
  • Minimum one year food service experience in healthcare dietary setting desired
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 to 75 pounds
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including emergencies
  • Ability to stand and walk intermittently throughout the day
  • Ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year food service experience in a healthcare dietary setting is desired
  • Minimum two years working in food and beverage operation preferred
  • General knowledge of quantity food preparation and portioned serving
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders, and work assignments
  • Ability to work flexible hours including emergencies
  • Patience and tolerance toward staff, patients, and family members
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Education in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets preferred

Job Duties

  • Follow standardized recipes, portioning, menu extensions, and presentation standards
  • Complete and utilize daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
  • Taste completed meals to ensure quality standards
  • Monitor temperature of hot and cold foods during preparation and service to meet safety standards
  • Check and inspect food products and supplies as delivered in absence of Executive Chef
  • Supervise and assist in storage of supplies and food products
  • Notify General Manager of supply or equipment needs and report unsafe conditions
  • Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by General Manager or Executive Chef
