Job Requirements

  • Previous food service experience in a K12 setting preferred
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation standards
  • Must be able to work full time schedule, days may vary
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Must maintain cleanliness and organization in food preparation areas
  • Ability to comply with company safety policies including use of protective gloves and slip-resistant shoes
  • Strong interpersonal skills for maintaining good working relationships
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous food service experience in a K12 setting preferred
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and food safety guidelines
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Commitment to safety and cleanliness standards
  • Ability to work full-time schedule as assigned

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning, ensuring food is at the correct temperature, attractive and tasty
  • Uses established ticket collection procedures during service and is responsible for records from their area
  • Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Stores or discards excess food according to safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized, ensuring proper storage of food and supplies
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required
  • Assists in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required
  • Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents immediately
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
  • Commits personally to safety of self and others
  • Abides by company policies including proper glove, mitt, and shoe use and lifting techniques
