Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous cook experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work full time Monday through Friday, hours may vary
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to comply with all safety and hygiene policies
  • Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cook experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to prepare food according to federal, state and corporate standards
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion control
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
  • Good interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Basic math skills for record keeping and inventory assistance

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
  • Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately
