Job Requirements
- Previous line cooking experience required
- Availability to work full-time with rotating weekends and holidays
- Ability to follow federal, state and company food safety standards
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks
- Willingness to wear protective gear such as gloves and slip-resistant shoes
- Reliable transportation to Caretta Bellevue location
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and adapt to kitchen procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous line cooking experience required
- Previous batch cooking experience preferred
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and food safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic math skills for portion control and record keeping
- Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment
- Willingness to attend training and safety meetings
Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains accurate records
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety
- Keeps refrigerators, storerooms, and food storage areas clean, neat, and properly maintained
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assists in production planning, record keeping, and reporting
- Assists in ordering and receiving of food and supplies
- Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents immediately
- Attends in-service and safety meetings
- Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers
- Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
- Ensures proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
- Commits personally to safety and adherence to company policies including the use of protective gloves and slip-resistant shoes
- Performs other duties as assigned
