Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous cook experience required
  • Ability to work full-time schedules including varying days and alternating weekends
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical kitchen tasks
  • Commitment to safety practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare food service environment
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
  • Serves meals or prepares food for delivery using correct portioning and ensuring proper temperature
  • Uses established ticket collection procedures and maintains records during service
  • Cleans kitchen area after preparation and serving, maintaining cleanliness standards
  • Stores or discards excess food following safe food-handling procedures
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping, and reporting
  • Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies
  • Reports maintenance issues, faulty equipment, or accidents to supervisor immediately
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Ensures proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
  • Commits personally to safety and adheres to company safety policies including use of protective gloves, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques
  • Performs other duties as assigned
