Job Requirements

  • ServSafe certification
  • at least 1 year of cooking experience
  • ability to work full-time hours

  • ability to follow directions and work collaboratively

Job Duties

  • Prepares food daily as outlined on the menus
  • alters or adapts recipes to accommodate special dietary needs or improve recipes
  • ensures attractive presentation of food before serving
  • coordinates and participates in serving food including monitoring portion control
  • maintains accurate record of chargeable meals and submits records monthly
  • assists with menu planning and adjustments for seasonal foods, vendor pricing, special events, and holidays
  • identifies food and supply needs and reports to Dietary Manager
  • prepares meats for storage and portion control
  • ensures proper handling, storage, and labeling of foods and ingredients
  • maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment
  • ensures compliance with all regulations
  • assists in training kitchen staff
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • complies with all policies and procedures
