Job Requirements
- Prior cooking and prep experience is required
- Prior customer service experience is preferred
- Ability to work full time Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and adhere to food safety standards
- Comply with all company safety policies including use of protective gear and lifting techniques
- Eligibility to work at the Baylor School location in Chattanooga, Tennessee
- Willingness to follow all operational procedures and support team dynamics
Job Qualifications
- Prior cooking and food preparation experience
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and standardized recipes
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Prior customer service experience preferred
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and safety meetings
Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains accurate records from area worked during service periods
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
- Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat, ensuring food and supply items are stored per standards
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
- Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required
- Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately
- Attends in-service and safety meetings
- Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
- Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
- Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
- Abides by all company policies and procedures including use of protective gloves, oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Shows personal commitment to safety and compliance with all established protocols
