Job Requirements

  • Prior cooking and prep experience is required
  • Prior customer service experience is preferred
  • Ability to work full time Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and adhere to food safety standards
  • Comply with all company safety policies including use of protective gear and lifting techniques
  • Eligibility to work at the Baylor School location in Chattanooga, Tennessee
  • Willingness to follow all operational procedures and support team dynamics

Job Qualifications

  • Prior cooking and food preparation experience
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and standardized recipes
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Prior customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and safety meetings

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
  • Uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains accurate records from area worked during service periods
  • Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat, ensuring food and supply items are stored per standards
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
  • Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required
  • Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
  • Abides by all company policies and procedures including use of protective gloves, oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Shows personal commitment to safety and compliance with all established protocols
