Job Requirements

  • Prior prep cook, cooking, and diet experience preferred
  • Full-time availability preferred with flexible days and hours
  • Ability to work in compliance with federal, state and corporate food safety standards
  • Commitment to workplace safety and a drug-free environment
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and proper food storage
  • Compliance with company policies on safety equipment and lifting techniques
  • Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior prep cook experience preferred
  • Experience in cooking and diet management preferred
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and instructions
  • Knowledge of food safety standards including HACCP
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Capability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment
  • Basic record keeping and reporting skills

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning
  • Tastes all prepared food items
  • Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting
  • Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies
  • Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures
  • Follows HACCP standards
  • Personal commitment to safety and compliance with company policies including the correct use of safety equipment and proper lifting techniques
  • Performs other duties as assigned
