Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous cooking experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knife skills and food preparation techniques
  • Ability to maintain consistent quality and portion control
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
  • Serve meals or prepare for delivery ensuring correct portioning and temperature
  • Use established ticket collection procedures during service
  • Clean kitchen after preparation and serving maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • Store or discard excess food following safe food-handling procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of refrigerators and storerooms
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting
  • Order and receive food and supplies
  • Report maintenance issues or accidents promptly
  • Attend in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers
  • Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Ensure food presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures meet standards
  • Follow HACCP standards
  • Personal commitment to safety
  • Abide by company policies and procedures including use of protective equipment
