Job Requirements

  • Previous commercial cooking experience is required
  • Ability to work full-time with variable schedule including weekends, holidays, early mornings and late nights
  • Ability to comply with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must maintain a drug-free workplace
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

Job Qualifications

  • Previous commercial cooking experience
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and food safety guidelines
  • Knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Basic math skills for portion control and inventory tasks
  • Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning, ensuring food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
  • Uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains records
  • Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Stores or discards excess food according to safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and stocked properly
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting
  • Assists in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required
  • Reports maintenance issues, faulty equipment or accidents to supervisor immediately
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Ensures proper presentation, portion control and serving temperatures following HACCP standards
  • Complies with company safety policies regarding protective gear and lifting techniques
