Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Age over 18 years
- Background clearance as required by government regulations
- Current food handler permit
- Minimum of two years cooking experience
- Negative TB test results
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to operate computer and related software
- Professionalism at all times with team members, residents, family, and visitors

Job Duties
- Arrive to work on time and prepared for your shift
- Prepare all food items in accordance with planned menus and recipes ensuring meals are appetizing, nutritional, and meet special dietary requirements
- Ensure all food is served at the correct temperature and charted accordingly
- Ensure proper plate presentation
- Consult with the Director of Dining Services on menu changes or substitutions
- Ensure food storage areas are clean and organized
- Prepare food in compliance with governmental, sanitary, and dietitian regulations and report any infractions
- Manage food orders upon delivery
- Dispose of food and waste appropriately
- Ensure leftovers are properly stored, labeled, and dated
- Record temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas
- Supervise servers and dishwashers
- Prepare upcoming menu items ensuring they are stocked and pulled as per recipes
- Responsible for safe storage and efficient use of kitchen inventory
- Promote a positive and friendly teamwork attitude
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Dining Services, Sous Chef, or Executive Director
