Job Requirements

  • Minimum of one or more years of food preparation experience
  • Culinary background preferred
  • Proficiency in English verbal and written
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Active Serve Safe Certification or Food Handlers Certificate preferred
  • Ability to work nights and weekends upon request
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • May be required to work on an on-call basis
  • Regular attendance, reliability, and punctuality
  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodations

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one or more years of food preparation experience in a related field
  • Culinary background preferred
  • Proficient in English both verbal and written
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Active Serve Safe Certification or Food Handlers Certificate preferred
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodations
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Well-organized with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with excellent time management
  • Ability to understand and communicate written and verbal directions

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals that follow the menus and recipes
  • Inspect special diet trays to assure correct diets are served
  • Serve food in accordance with portion control procedures
  • Prepare food for therapeutic diets per planned menus
  • Prepare cold food items, bakery, and salad items
  • Cook hot foods as directed by supervisors
  • Follow culinary practices and food safety regulations
  • Adhere to food service timelines
  • Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse menu options
  • Serve meals to residents and guests as needed
  • Assist in food preparation for special events and parties
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and safe manner
  • Assist with food prep for upcoming meals
  • Help with inventory and replenishment of food and supplies
  • Meet federal and state in-service requirements
