Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Previous cooking experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and menus
- Ability to work early morning shifts and every other weekend
- Ability to stand for periods and lift heavy items
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cook preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (ServSafe certification is a plus)
- Ability to follow recipes, portion control guidelines, and dietary restrictions
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and menus
- Ensure meals are prepared in accordance with dietary guidelines, resident preferences, and nutritional requirements
- Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures to ensure a safe and clean kitchen environment
- Assist in meal service and ensure timely preparation and delivery of food
- Monitor food inventory, assist with ordering supplies, and minimize waste
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas after meal preparation
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal food safety regulations
- Work collaboratively with dietary aides and other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Accommodate special dietary requests and modify meals as necessary for residents with specific needs
- Participate in training, staff meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives
